Discover The Secrets To Decoding Food Labels!
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008
It may seem like everyone is on some kind of quick weight loss diet, but they aren’t always a good idea. For one thing you should always check with your doctor before starting any diet. This goes for even small quick weight loss diets that are most commonly used as a way to lose a little weight for a special occasion or meeting, or as a way to feel better.
Using quick weight loss diets is part of our culture. However, such a dramatic change in diet and nourishment can be hard on your body. A quick weight loss diet lasting longer than a week is not recommended for anyone.
Every quick weight loss diet is created for short term use, and isn’t supposed to be used for a lifestyle change. After two weeks, your body stops responding to the diet, even if you still feel like the diet is effective. Even though you will notice results, these diets are not good for your body long term.
If you starve yourself completely, you body will start to shut down and store up calories to prepare itself for your reduced caloric intake. As a consequence of this, you will find losing weight to be extremely challenging. Therefore, while it is tempting to drastically limit your intake when dieting, it will not result in long term weight loss and is the reason why these types of quick weight loss diets are only able to be used for a short duration of time.
When you have lost the weight that you wanted to on your quick weight loss diet, it is often tempting to reward yourself by eating everything in sight. But that would be a big mistake. Now is the time to begin eating healthy and balanced meals so that your new healthy weight is maintained. Drinking plenty of water is also recommended. Often simply drinking a glass of water will help curb any hunger pains you experience.
Once you stop dieting, you should not overexert yourself. Remember that your body has recently adjusted to one dietary change and now must adjust again. Changing your diet can cause stress to your body, so it is important that you give your body a chance to get used to the changes. The adjustment to the recommended intake of calories for your body size should be a gradual one. This way, you will be better able to create healthy eating habits for the rest of your life, as opposed to getting into the cycle of yo-yo dieting.
Losing weight can be kicked into gear with a quick weight loss diet. To enhance your results, supplement these diets with moderate exercise. Even with these quick weight loss diets, you will still need adequate nutrition.

Getting Rid of Bad Breath - For Ever!
Most people who suffer from bad breath know it that they do. It is not too difficult to learn how to get rid of bad breath, if it is not from a medical or dental condition. All you need to do is watch what you eat, and establish a healthy and regular oral hygiene routine everyday.
The Most Common Causes of Bad Breath
One of the most common causes for bad breath is left over foods that get stuck on or in between teeth after meals. It is known that a person with a high-protein diet, such as meats, are more prone to bad breath than those who eat meals high in fresh foods. Protein takes longer to digest, thus making the metabolic break down of foods easier to turn sour or rot in the mouth and/or stomach. This in turn can make the breath smell bad.
Best Way To Get Rid of Bad Breath
Usually the main cause of bad breath is bacteria feeding off of food particles that are left on or between your teeth after eating. The best way for anyone to get rid of bad breath is to invest in a good toothbrush, some floss and be persevering about your daily oral hygiene and dental exams.
In clinical tests, it has been proven that cleansing the tongue can reduce odor causing bacteria in the mouth by 75%! So not only is brushing essential to keeping the mouth fresh smelling, but cleaning the tongue too is very important! Plaque and mucus tends to cling to the thousands of ridges on the tongue, so regular cleaning can keep a mouth up to 75% cleaner!
Setting up a daily routine of dental hygiene is key to helping get rid of all the bacteria that can cause bad breath. Teeth should be brushed after every meal and proper flossing should be done at least once a day. Disinfecting mouthwash can also help rid the mouth of odor growing plaque and bacteria built up since it can reach the areas that can be missed with the toothbrush and flossing.
It is also recommended that you quit smoking. Smoking is a huge cause of bad breath. Not only does your mouth smell, but your clothes, skin and hair as well. When you have bad breath that is caused by smoking the only real way to get rid of the odor for good is to quit for good. Not only will your breath freshen up, but your body will thank you also!
Interestingly, alcohol can cause bad breath. Yep! Just brushing teeth won’t do it since it sticks in your body for hours. So think about that when you head out for a drink. Maybe a nifty non-alcoholic one might do your breath better.

Looking Great For Summer That Won’t Break The Bank.
Monday, July 21st, 2008
With summer just around the corner, it is time to tune up your body and wardrobe so that you will look absolutely stunning as you relax on the beach or by the pool. Those with a gym membership will already have a head start, provided that they are actually going regularly. If you haven’t joined, it probably means that you would be wasting your money to rush and join one now. All is not lost as there are other strategies to help you.
Think about your daily routine and how you can incorporate exercise into. Those who work in offices should stop using the lift and use the stairs instead. To get into a routine, just use the down stairs to start with. As you get used to that, start leaving the lift one floor early to walk up, increasing to two floors and so on. If you work on the ground floor, then try getting off your bus one stop earlier and walking the rest of the way and do the same on the way home. Tube travellers have more of a problem but try using the down stairs for a while before attempting the often long and steep stairs up. This strategy will takes longer so be prepared to start out earlier to give yourself enough time to get to work. It is easy to fall back into bad habits.
Another strategy is when you are carrying your shopping, lift your arms out in front of you, hold then slowly drop them. Repeat this with your arms out to the side. It would be beneficial if you had roughly equal weight in each hand. You may get strange looks now but you will be getting admiring looks later.
The body is not the only thing that needs exercising, the face will benefit too. You can do a lot with make up and regular moisturising but for real results you will need some facial exercises. Choose isometric type facial exercises, to really add shape and tone to your face. It will also help tighten any sagging skin. Just because you are young, don’t think that these are not for you. It is never too early to start your facial exercises as you will be keeping those youthful looks when all your friends are thinking about lifts and botox.
Sun is the enemy of skin. It dries it and tans it so don’t forget to use a good blocker when lying out on the beach. Remember that your face will have taken sun even when it is overcast. You don’t have to stay indoors all the time but you do have to monitor the amount of sun you take as it does have an ageing effect on the skin and there is a risk of skin cancer.
With the coming of the sun, so the toes start to make an appearance as sandals, open toed shoes and flip flops start being bought out of the closet. After a winter stuffed into boots they need some care and attention. If your budget will run to it, your local beauty salon will be able to give you a fine pedicure but you can do your own. Get your stuff together and do it whilst watching a movie so it won’t seem such a chore.
Dieting is not something that should be rushed into, especially those crash diets as you will be robbing your body of the vital minerals and vitamins that it will need to help recover from the sun. In fact if you eat foods rich in beta carotene, three to four weeks before you go on holiday, it will positively assist the tanning process. he foods to look out for are: cantaloupe melons, romaine lettuce, fresh thyme, broccoli, sweet potatoes and, of course, carrots. Increasing your intake of vitamin C will also help, but it is better to eat fruit rather than taking supplements as it contains beneficial soluble and non-soluble fibre. Using fruit as snacks means that you can remove sweets, crisps and other junk food from your diet and drinking water instead of sugary colas and other sodas will also help you to loose weight.
If you still need convincing, perhaps try on your swimsuit from last year and look in the mirror. Whilst you are looking, check out the summer clothes. Keep the classics but ditch those that were only a passing phase. Do a little retail therapy and get some new threads, remembering what will mix and match from last year. It is amazing what can be revived. Throw in a couple of pairs of shoes and maybe top it off with a rakish hat and you are ready to take on the world.
