World of warcraft Shaman guide - The totem wielding warrior mage

Friday, July 18th, 2008

by Nick Ardenshaw

So you are reading a world of warcraft guide on shamans and wonder if it is actually a bundle of guides about warriors, mages, or other healing classes in wow. On the other hand you might even wonder if you are reading a wow guide on Druids who like Shamans can also tank, heal and cast.

Then you might read in forums and other online sites, that they are not as good in these abilities as the classes that specialise in them. However when you consider that Druids can heal in tree form or that they can tank as bears, or give damage when turning into a cat, remember that Shamans is able to do all of of this at the same time without the need to shape shift - though they can turn into wolves to travel faster.

There is a solitary mark that makes the Shaman stand out from other classes, and this is their access to totems which when planted in nearby ground gives them and fellow party members extra beneficial buffs while fighting opponents. The thing that makes Shamans challenging and fun to play the most is how to use the totems effectively.

There are four categories of totems : Earth, Fire, Water and Air. Each totem requires split timing decisions and a cool head to implement properly whilst engaged in tricky combat situation or in a group. Useful is also how they can use the Reincarnation spell to resurrect themselves as well as other members. This is limited to once every played hour, cut down to 40 as more talents points are assigned to that ability. This is another feature that makes them fun to play solo and very useful when in a group.

It’s not just Horde that can now play Shamans. After the Burning Crusade expansion, now Dranei, the new alliance race, can also play Shaman. Arguably this is possibly one of the best classes that Draenei can choose thanks to some of the attributes they have which allows them to exploit this class to the max.

Any world of warcraft shaman guide worth its salt will tell you that when you reach the maximum level it is time for your shaman to specialize as either an Enhancement, Elemental or Restoration shaman. The directive of elemental shamans is to deal out high damage, something which comes in useful when you are levelling up. The restoration shamans are more adept at being able to heal effectively, making them worthy back up healers in group play.

This small world of warcraft guide on shamans barely scratches the surface to give you an idea of how complex and multi talented this wow class is. It’s the very fact that they are jack of all trades and master of none that makes them a class to consider because as you play it you will be able to determine whether you enjoy casting, tanking or healing. But be under no illusion, Shamans can indeed master of these talents and skills just as proficiently as any of the classes that are more specialized in them, making them expert of all of these abilities and definitely the jack of none. And find out at your peril if you belong to a class that thinks this. Shamans are quite simply no pushovers.

Does The Quality Of Your Printer Ink Really Matter?

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

by Frank Bolsom

Any printer manufacturer will tell you that you should only use their ink - and many give dire warnings about the evils of generic ink or recycled cartridges. But is this just a way for them to convince you to buy their cartridges, or does it really make a difference?

In reality, both ideas are true in certain situations. Consider how inkjet printers operate. Small dots are sprayed onto paper by the printer and form the complete image.

High quality ink is important to overall print quality because the small size of dots used in inkjet printing need to be positioned precisely. If not, the result will be less clear.

Printers are sophisticated machines that use advanced technology to work. All their components need to be able to function together. Companies that make printers produce their own brand of ink and paper that are designed to work together, offering the best results possible.

Using ink and printers from different brands will result in a lower quality of printing. In order to prevent bad results, make sure that the printer and the ink you are using are designed to work together.

That’s not to say the original manufacturer is the only ink you should use, however. The fact is there are “generic” cartridges and refill ink that will work fine with your printer, you just need to be sure that it is designed for the model you’re going to use it with.

Since companies that make printers earn more profits from sales of ink cartridges than anything else, they don’t want you to think that there are other viable alternatives.

Print quality can be preserved if you are sure that whatever ink, cartridge, or any other component you use is designed to work with your specific printer. Your printing will turn out great and you will save money over more expensive ink, too.
